Unusual Presentation of Bilateral Adrenocortical Carcinoma Mimicking Adrenal Metastasis
A 75-year-old female visited our hospital with bilateral adrenal masses that were detected incidentally during lumbar spine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the evaluation of radiating flank pain. Consecutive computed tomography and MRI revealed bilateral adrenal masses with no evidence of lymph node enlargement or local invasion; 2[(18)F]fluoro-2-deoxyglucose (FDG)-positron emission tomogr...
متن کاملGiant adrenal myelolipoma associated with 21-hydroxylase deficiency: unusual association mimicking an androgen-secreting adrenocortical carcinoma.
The objective of this study was to describe a case of giant myelolipoma associated with undiagnosed congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) due to 21-hydroxylase (21OH) deficiency. Five seven year-old male patient referred with abdominal ultrasound revealing a left adrenal mass. Biochemical investigation revealed hyperandrogenism and imaging exams characterized a large heterogeneous left adrenal m...

متن کاملAdrenal histoplasmosis in Cushing's syndrome with bilateral adrenocortical nodular hyperplasia.
Adrenal histoplasmosis in Cushing's syndrome of adrenal origin is rare. A patient with Cushing's disease with bilateral nodular hyperplasia and histoplasmosis of both the adrenal glands is described. The diagnosis of histoplasmosis was only made post operatively as the constitutional manifestations, besides being partially masked by hypercortisolism also resemble those of tuberculosis.
متن کاملAdrenocortical Carcinoma Mimicking Pheochromocytoma: A case Report and Review of Literature
Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is an uncommon malignancy originating from cortex of adrenal gland. The most common pitfall in diagnosis of ACC is to distinguish it from pheochromocytoma. Here we report a 62-year-old hypertensive man with presentation of dyspnea. The laboratory data showed an increase in urine cortisol and renin with a mild increase in aldosterone, but decrease in adrenocorticot...
